Those Lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer...

During these last few weeks of glorious summer, I set my daily work schedule for an early rise. Up and at my computer by 6:30 (sometimes as early as 4:30 for the sunrise first) I work hard until around 11:00. After that I pack an array of fun, wholesome snacks and head eastward to a beach that is calling my name. The Maine/New Hampshire coast is loaded with an amazing choice of beaches. Hmmm... where to go... Ogunquit, Parson's Beach, York Harbor, Dead Duck Park, Plum Island, the cliffs of my mom's house at Short Sands....

Like listening to the crashing waves inside a seashell, I hear my inner voice telling me which direction to take. I'm free. I am a mermaid.

After spending a few hours basking in the sublime August sunshine and frolicking in the crashing waves (and sometimes a teenie-weenie work on my laptop while at the beach!), I pack up and head homeward to finish my day's work. Ahhhh... the creativity abounds!

I give thanks daily for the freedom I have to work around the fickle Maine weather. To do something I love so much as my profession and to enjoy each day as it it were my last, is a gift to behold.

Happy trails...
Cherie

Those days of soda and pretzels and beer
Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer
You'll wish that summer could always be here"
